Child Safety Standards
Publishable standards for Google Play (Dating / Social). Host this URL in Play Console and link it from in-app Settings.
1. Our commitment
TH!RST is an adult dating and social discovery app for users 18 years of age and older. We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including any attempt to involve minors in romantic, sexual, or exploitative contexts. We design product and trust-and-safety systems to prevent, detect, and report CSAE.
2. Age restrictions
- Install access is restricted for minors via Google Play Restrict Minor Access.
- The app requires a date of birth confirming the user is 18+ before use.
- Accounts reasonably believed to belong to minors are removed.
- We do not knowingly market TH!RST to children.
3. Prohibited content and conduct
Users may not:
- Upload, share, or solicit sexual content involving anyone under 18
- Groom, solicit, or attempt to contact minors
- Share non-consensual intimate imagery
- Impersonate others or operate fake profiles to deceive users
- Use the service for trafficking, exploitation, or illegal activity
Violations result in content removal, account suspension or termination, and referral to authorities when required by law.
4. In-app reporting
- Every profile, photo, chat, and AI message surface includes a Report action that stays inside the app.
- Reports can flag: underage user, sexual exploitation, harassment, scam/fraud, non-consensual imagery, other safety concerns.
- Reports are reviewed by trained staff or designated vendors under documented SLAs.
- Users can block another account immediately; blocked users cannot message the reporter.
5. CSAE handling
- Priority queue for CSAE reports
- Preservation of relevant evidence for lawful requests
- Mandatory reporting to NCMEC (or local equivalent) where legally required
- Cooperation with law enforcement pursuant to valid legal process
6. AI-generated content
- AI companion / wingman features disclose that content is AI-generated before engagement.
- AI outputs are subject to server-side moderation; the client is not trusted as the sole safety filter.
- Users can report any AI message from within the conversation UI.
7. Moderation and detection
- Photo upload moderation prior to wide visibility
- Automated and human review for policy violations
- Fraud and fake-account signals feed an authenticity filter so engagement notifications are not sourced from fraud-flagged accounts
8. Data and privacy for safety
- Safety reports and evidence are retained as needed for investigation and legal obligations
- Special-category data (for example sexual orientation preferences) requires explicit, separate, revocable consent and is not sold to ad networks

9. Standards review
We review these standards at least annually and after material product or legal changes. Material updates are reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
